Why do we use soy wax? Well, for several reasons:

  1. Renewable Resource: Made from soybeans, it’s a sustainable, renewable resource compared to paraffin, which is petroleum-based.
  2. Cleaner Burning: Soy wax burns cleaner, producing less soot than paraffin, which can help maintain better indoor air quality.
  3. Longer Burn Time: Soy wax typically has a slower burn rate, which means candles made from it can last longer.
  4. Good Scent Throw: It holds and releases fragrance well, providing a pleasant scent throw when burned.
  5. Easy to Clean: Spills or drips can be cleaned up easily with soap and water, making it more convenient for makers and users alike.
  6. Biodegradable: Being plant-based, soy wax is biodegradable, making it an environmentally friendly option.

How do I care for my candles?

We will always recommend that you abide by the warnings/burning instructions that are listed on a sticker that is attached to each and every one of our candles. Here’s a recap of our guidelines:
– Burn within sight
– Keep away from flammable objects
– Keep away from children and pets
– Trim wicks short before lighting (1/4"/6,5mm)
– Do not burn candle for more than four hours at a time.
– Put out the candle when only a small amount of wax remains.

Handmade

Every candle is unique and lovingly handmade. Each candle may therefore be slightly different in colour or scent and contain the occasional bubble.

Frosting

Candles may contain ‘frosting’. These are white spots that can occur mainly due to temperature differences and on dark candles. Frosting is not harmful. It means that no chemicals were used in making the candles.
